Tecuci flood risk reduction - Hydrotechnical project

The Tecuci flood risk reduction project is one of the most important investments in hydrotechnical infrastructure in Galati County. Inoveco has contributed to the completion of this major initiative, which aims to protect the municipality of Tecuci and neighboring localities from the danger of severe flooding.

Details about the Tecuci flood risk reduction project

On August 6, 2025, at the Tecuci City Hall, took place the closing press conference of the flood risk reduction project in Tecuci, an event attended by representatives of local and county authorities, the Prut-Barlad Water Basin Administration, the companies involved and members of the community.

Inoveco was part of the consortium that implemented this project, together with S.C. SOCOT S.A. (leader) and S.C. DIMAR S.R.L., bringing expertise in environmental works and hydrotechnical infrastructure.

Works foreseen in the project:

  • regularization of the Tecucel dam bed;

  • construction of a non-permanent reservoir with a capacity of 2.76 million cubic meters;

  • rehabilitation of two pumping stations;

  • planting of 3.300 m of forest on the Rapa Rosie and Tecucelu Sec watercourses.

These works were designed to reduce the risk of flooding and to protect socio-economic objectives in Tecuci, Buciumeni and Nicoresti.

Collaboration and communication for project success

Inoveco has actively contributed to this project with its technical expertise gained through years of experience in environmental works and hydrotechnical infrastructure.

Our team worked closely with the project leader S.C. SOCOT S.A. and the partner S.C. DIMAR S.R.L., ensuring efficient communication and good coordination between all the stakeholders. Through this integrated approach, we managed to optimize resources, meet deadlines and deliver a solid project, able to respond to the challenges generated by potential floods in the Tecuci area.

Project benefits for the community

The implementation of the Tecuci flood risk reduction project brings direct benefits to the community:

  • increased safety for residents;

  • protection of local infrastructure;

  • reducing the economic damage caused by floods;

  • increasing resilience to extreme weather events.

The Tecuci Flood Risk Reduction Project demonstrates that well-planned investments in hydro-technical infrastructure can radically change the level of safety of a community. Through complex works and modern technical solutions, the area has been prepared to cope with heavy rainfall and future extreme hydrological events. The result is a more protected municipality, a strengthened infrastructure and a community that can look more confidently to the future.
