The Babadag irrigation infrastructure rehabilitation project improves farmers' access to water for irrigation, reduces technological losses on canals and increases the resistance of crops to prolonged droughts, specific to the Dobrogea region. The investment contributes directly to increased agricultural productivity and economic stability of local farms.
INOVECO SRL, general contractor of the Babadag irrigation infrastructure rehabilitation project, is executing the modernization works of the main and secondary canals, pumping stations SP1 and SRP1, as well as the water catchment and transport infrastructure of the Babadag Lake.
The Babadag irrigation system is under the administration of ANIF Dobrogea - Tulcea Administration Unit and serves one of the largest agricultural areas in the county. The supply is realized through the three basic stations - SP1, SP2 and SP3 - which draw water directly from Lake Babadag.
The Babadag irrigation infrastructure rehabilitation project includes modernization of pumping capacities, rehabilitation of canals CA0, CA1 and CA4, waterproofing of degraded sections and restoration of hydro-technical constructions, to ensure efficient and sustainable water transport in the long term.
Works realized by INOVECO
- dredging and reprofiling CA0, CA1 and CA4
- waterproofing of channels with geotextile + geomembrane PEID + concrete slabs
- recalibration of stretches, repair of asphalt and repair of embankments
- modernization of pumping stations SP1 and SRP1
- restoration of hydrotechnical constructions and sarpanta type roofs
