The project contributes to increasing the operational safety of the landfill, reduces the risk of seepage and pollution and ensures controlled leachate management, supporting environmental protection and current county-wide waste management standards.
INOVECO SRL has executed the expansion works of the Targu Jiu landfill, by building Cell 2 and realizing the auxiliary infrastructure necessary for safe operation. The project includes the complete waterproofing of the new cell, the implementation of a modern leachate drainage system, the construction of an additional collection basin and special stabilization works for the western part of the site.
The objective of the investment is to increase storage capacity, reduce pollution risks, improve leachate management and ensure an exploitation in compliance with European environmental protection standards.

- Construction of cell 2 and the dike of compartmentalization with the existing cell
- Complete geosynthetic waterproofing system
- Installation of leached drainage network with HDPE pipes
- Construction of the additional leachate collection pond
- Stabilization works on the west side: gabion walls and drains
- Concrete rails and complete site enclosure
