Sensor DDS system®
In 1991, in Slovakia, the SENSOR DDS ® system was created, a very efficient system for detecting defects in the seals made with geomembrane at the household, industrial, hazardous landfills, lagoons, tanks, tailings ponds, etc.
SENSOR DDS SYSTEM FEATURES®
SENSOR DDS® has been successfully installed since 1991 in over 30 countries around the world, comprising over 400 projects and over 8 million m2 of waterproofing.
- Sensor DDS ® system is available for periods ranging from 6 months to 20 years.
- After execution, fault testing and possible repairs if necessary, geomembrane waterproofing is certified as "without defects".
- Subsequently, periodical inspections can be made to monitor the integrity of the waterproofing system.
- In addition, a continuous monitoring system is available – SENSOR DDS – CMS®. Any defect that has occurred is immediately detected.

- Hydraulic works: sewerage, industrial ponds, lagoons, waste storage cells, water tanks, dams, canals.

INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
Sealing defects are detected by means of a flow of electricity through possible infiltration. This means that possible infiltrations can be detected before large accidents occur leading to environmental pollution.
During the construction of the landfill, special sensors are installed under the geomembrane. They are connected by cables to a control box that is placed side by side of the warehouse.
After the complete installation of the waterproofing system – drainage / coating, an electrical source is activated above it and any anomaly that occurs is recorded, thus detecting the area where the sealing is interrupted. The data obtained in the field are interpreted by a special software that makes three-dimensional graphs and identifies the actual locations of defects. The locations of these infiltration points are transmitted a few hours before commissioning, which allows the detection of damaged areas and their repair.
