Industrial plants for thermal hydrolysis of biodegradable fraction of municipal waste in semi-continuous system

These installations are intended for pre-treatment by hydrolysis of organic matter under conditions of high temperature and pressure in order to partially decompose and sanitize it. The result is a homogeneous organic matter that has similar characteristics throughout the year, suitable for anaerobic digestion (biogas production) or composting. In addition, treatment in such installations results in a 75% reduction in volume. The advantage of using this technology in the chain of mechanical-biological treatment of the biodegradable fraction of municipal waste is that downstream treatment equipment will be much smaller compared to direct treatment (without thermal hydrolysis) of waste and will have much better efficiency due to the homogeneity and consistency of the quality of the material obtained after thermal hydrolysis. Being completely closed systems (pressurized athoclaves), the emission level of such an installation is zero. The treatment capacity of a thermal hydrolysis module is 50,000t/year.
