Gabions or gabion mats made of wire mesh are produced in a wide range of standard sizes allowing easy paneling of the structure and combining standard sizes to obtain any size required by the job.
Advantages of gabions:
- The advantage of wire frames is especially visible in the works performed in whites with continuous erosion, where gabion mattresses can easily track the section of the profile of the bed.
- The weapon has a lifespan of between 60 and 80 years, depending on the type of protection, until aggressive agents break through the protective coating;
- Hexagonal mesh wire mesh gabions are provided with internal diaphragms from metre to metre to increase the rigidity of the gabion and to increase the elasticity of the gabion structure as a whole;
- Gabions and gabion mattresses are provided with covers for any size;
- The webbing should be double twisted, thus increasing the strength and elasticity of the net;
- Due to the double twisted wire mesh is prevented from breaking the entire net in case of local breakage of a few stitches.
Features gabions:
Gabions are made of wire mesh with hexagonal mesh. The wire is made of soft steel and has a protection based on zinc in three variants:
- double galvanized wire covered with a quantity of Zinc of 240 – 290 g/m2 depending on the diameter of the wire, by passing the wire twice through the Zn bath according to EN 10244-2.
- wire with galfan protection (alloy composed of Zinc + 5% Aluminum)
