Rehabilitation and extension of supply pipes, distribution networks and sewerage networks in Caransebes and Baile Herculane

  1. introduction:  

The contract refers to the extension of the supply pipes, distribution networks and sewerage networks in Caransebes and is part of the Technical Assistance for the Management of the project "Modernization of water and wastewater infrastructure in Caras Severin County".

The specific objectives of the project are:

  • Ensuring compliance with national and European legislation during the transition period agreed between Romania and the EU in the environment sector;
  • Ensuring the optimal use of the European Union's cohesion funds.
  1. Brief description of the contract:
  • Location of works on the water supply network:

The works on the water supply network were carried out according to the following physical indicators:

    • Water storage tank V=5000 mc, this volume of water will be provided with the help of two tanks, each with a capacity of 2500 mc.
    • Rehabilitation of the water supply network on a length of 6.1 km. As complementary works were provided: 23 above-ground hydrants, 232 branches, connection to the network of 489 existing branches, 45 valve fireplaces and 1 buried faucet. It was made of high-density polyethylene pipes PEID, PE80, PN10 for diameter less than 110 mm, and PEID, PE100 and PN10 for diameter greater than 110 mm.
    • Expansion of the water supply network over a length of 6.9 km. As complementary works were provided: 381 branches, connection to the network of 23 existing branches, 68 houses of valves and 4 buried faucets. It will be made of high-density polyethylene pipes PE100, PN10, with a diameter of 110 mm.

The location of the works on the water supply network was done on a total of 42 streets. 

  • Location of works on the sewerage network:

The works on the sewer network are characterized by the following physical indicators:

    • Rehabilitation of the sewerage network on a length of 12.1 km, provided with the following complementary works: 192 connections, 300 fireplaces. PVC SN8 tubes were provided, with diameter contained in Dn 250 mm and Dn 500 mm, respectively PAFSIN with diameter curpinse between Dn 600 mm and Dn 1000 mm. For the diameter Dn 1200 mm were provided ceramic tubes with high crushing resistance, with a length of 2 m.
    • Extension of the sewerage network over a length of 20.1 km, with the following complementary works: 1,326 connections, 473 valve fireplaces. The network was executed with PVC SN8 tubes, with a diameter of between 250-315 mm.
    • Wastewater pumping stations 4 pieces

The location of the works on the sewer network was done on a total of 97 streets.
