Execution of irrigation works at Sinoe

Rehabilitation of the irrigation system

Name of the paper: Execution of works for the investment objectives under the administration of ANIF, within the National Program for rehabilitation of the Main Irrigation Infrastructure in Romania – phase I – 4 lots – 2: Lot 4 – Rehabilitation of irrigation development in Sinoe, Constanta County

PROJECT DETAILS

  • The purpose for which it is desired to rehabilitate the Sinoe irrigation arrangement is to provide irrigation water in optimal conditions, with optimal yields and minimal water losses.

  • As a function, the Sinoe SPB pumping station has the role of ensuring the adjustable water flows depending on the area occupied by the crops to be applied watering, with better yields and minimal expenses.

  • The headrace channels have the role of transiting the water flows for irrigation, with minimal water losses.

  • The necessity and opportunity of executing the proposed rehabilitation works results from the fact that users can receive water for a water-consuming culture structure, taking into account the amplification of the phenomena of prolonged drought.

INVESTMENT OBJECTIVES FOR IRRIGATION WORKS AT SINOE

By this investment, it is foreseen the rehabilitation of the basic pumping station and of the water distribution channels with the afferent hydrotechnical constructions as follows: the Pumping Station SPB Sinoe, the CA Sinoe channel, the CA 4 Sinoe add-on channel.

DETAILS ABOUT THE SPB SINOE PUMPING STATION

Constructively, the pumping station consists of wet vat (caisson) and superstructure (electrical installation room and electromotors), having the following basic components:

  • Pumping aggregates;
  • Installation of force and command;
  • Operational current electrical installation cc 220 V;
  • Electrical lighting installation;
  • Hydromechanical installation (valves, ventilation valves, cuve dewatering installation);
  • Lifting installation – gantry crane;
  • The caisson of the station is divided with suction cups for each aggregate, which have been provided with closing ropes and grills.

DETAILS ABOUT THE CHANNEL AS SINOE

The CA Sinoe channel has a length of 36,593 m and is dimensioned for transiting a flow rate of 46.1 mc/s. The canal picks up the water pumped by the SINOE SPB base pumping station.

The works that have been executed here:

  • Rehabilitation of the canal by removing the aquatic vegetation;
  • Restoration of degraded pears by pouring on the place of reinforced concrete slabs on a waterproof layer;
  • Restoration of the waterproofing of the 6.354 m section by pouring on the place of concrete slabs placed on an impermeable layer of hdpe membrane thickness 0.6 mm.

DETAILS ABOUT THE CHANNEL CA 4 SINOE

The CA 4 Sinoe channel is supplied with water from the CA Sinoe channel and is sized for transiting a flow rate of 3,968 mc/s. The section has a length of 1,400 m, which needs to be rehabilitated.

The works that are proposed to be executed within this section are:

  • Rehabilitation of the canal by removing the aquatic vegetation;
  • Restoration of degraded pears by pouring on the place of reinforced concrete slabs placed on a waterproof layer (HDPE membrane thickness 0.6 mm);
  • Restoring the waterproofing of the 1,400 m section by pouring on the spot concrete slabs placed on an impermeable layer;
  • Restoration of the sealing system at the 2 stavilar culverts and the maneuvering installations;
  • Restoration of concrete constructions (piles, culverts, etc.) at the 2 culverts-stavilar.
