Snagov Sewer System: Work on the domestic sewer and water supply networks has been completed

The streets will be restored to their original condition by the end of October.

The project to expand and rehabilitate the water and sewer networks in the Snagov Local Administrative Unit, in the town of Tancabesti, Ilfov County, is at an advanced stage of implementation. INOVECO is carrying out the work as part of the ACVATOT (consortium leader)–INOVECO consortium for the beneficiary APA-CANAL ILFOV S.A., under contract IF-CL-02, which is part of the POIM 2014–2020 program.

On-site, the construction project has entered the phase that matters most to residents: the installation of pumping stations and the restoration of the streets where the pipes were laid.

Progress of Work on Individual Components of the Snagov Domestic Sewer and Water Supply Network

According to the latest report, the degree of achievement of the main objectives is as follows:

  • Domestic sewer system 100% complete
  • Water supply network 100% complete
  • Wastewater Collection System 100% Complete

What's happening on the construction site right now

Installation of Wastewater Pumping Stations (SPAU)

SPAU 6, one of the wastewater pumping stations included in the project, was installed on DJ 101B. The pumping stations are a critical component of the discharge network: they collect wastewater from the lower-lying areas of the town and transport it to discharge points where gravity flow is not possible.

At present, all wastewater pumping stations have been installed.

Restoring the road system and returning the land to its original state

After the pipes have been laid and the tests have been accepted, INOVECO crews restore the streets affected by the work, depending on the existing road structure of each street:

  • Laying of the asphalt mixture over the sewer trenches, after the foundation layers have been prepared and compacted;
  • rebuilding the road system with cement concreteon streets where the existing pavement is made of concrete;
  • preparation of the foundation using ballast and crushed stone, compaction, and leveling to the required elevation on the streets scheduled for paving.

Site restoration is not just a minor detail at the end of a construction project, but a contractual obligation that we treat with the same rigor as the underground work: the foundation layers are compacted and inspected before the final pavement is poured, so that the streets do not settle later along the route of the trenches.

Why This Project Matters to Snagov

The existing water supply system in Snagov operates using three underground wells, only two of which are functional, a 400 cubic meter reservoir that is in a state of disrepair, and lacks a SCADA monitoring system. The current investment creates a properly sized system that ensures:

  • the continuous and reliable supply of drinking water to households and businesses;
  • controlled collection and disposal of domestic wastewater;
  • Protecting groundwater and reducing the risk of soil contamination—a crucial consideration in an area located in the immediate vicinity of Lake Snagov.

Work carried out by INOVECO as part of the project

  • expansion and rehabilitation of the sewer system;
  • rehabilitation and expansion of the water network, including new water mains;
  • New connections, pipe installation, and site restoration.

Work is proceeding according to the construction schedule until the planned objectives are fully completed. The streets will be restored to their original condition—as they were before the project began—by the end of October.

Our team carries out water supply, sewer, pumping station, and municipal infrastructure projects throughout Romania, using our own construction crews and our own fleet of equipment.
